2008 Julington Creek Elementary School and Brownie Troop 1146 collected
food supplies and cash for the animals at the shelter during a couple of
weeks in May. The kids did this project in memory of Casey Warner, a
student and Girl Scout who lost her battle with cancer last year.
Casey had a huge heart filled with
compassion for all living things. Because she was so special and because
animals were special to her, the kids thought this would be a fitting
tribute to her.
The staff, volunteers, and animals here at
the shelter appreciate the selflessness of these kids. They had a great time
at the shelter and gave us all a good day.
Our hearts go out
to Casey’s family and friends.
The world is a better place for having had her in it.

This wonderful and fun
group of women shared their Saturday morning with us planting new flowers
and plants along the main building and cat adoption areas and by potting
beautiful plants for the front deck. They also weeded and raked the front
area and had fun visiting with some of the dogs. We really enjoyed having
them with us and will enjoy the fruits of their labor for months to come.

in honor of Grandma and Grandpa
– lifelong animal lovers.
